It's really bad form to start an article with a negative attitude; however, the reality is the folks that could use this information will probably never read it, or are not motivated enough to actually take advantage of the opportunity offered.

Our Macintosh Computer Learning Center has volunteer Supervisors available to talk with you Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 3:00 (except during scheduled afternoon SIGs). These Supervisors have experience operating the Mac, and in many cases have even specialized in using certain software programs such as: AppleWorks/ClarisWorks (including Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Drawing, Painting), Quicken, iTunes, iMovie, iPhoto and Photoshop Elements 2 applications... even Microsoft Word and Excel programs.

If you have specific questions related to any of the above, visit the Learning Center and ask... if the Supervisor doesn't have an answer he/she will recommend someone who probably does have the experience and can help you.

As for beginners and new users, the folks that walk in the door asking how to get started learning... although we do not offer formal classes we do have Tutorials to guide and inform you... and the opportunity to get personal one-on-one instruction from the Supervisor. Your own interest and motivation will either help you or hinder you when learning how to operate your computer.

We have a well equipped facility with state of the art Mac computers and updated programs... we have friendly Supervisors with experience ready to help you... we have a comfortable and pleasant environment for learning... we have an excellent and extensive Library with many of the latest books published with information about the Mac and the programs that make it operate... and you have the exceptional opportunity to benefit from all of the above by visiting the Learning Center where you can learn.
