At the February LWMUG Board Meeting, the discussion about upgrading some of our Mac computers in the Learning Center resulted in approval to purchase 2 eMacs and miscellaneous software and memory for other important upgrades.

Although GRF supports our club and Learning Center, with a purchasing program intended to keep our Macs up-to-date, the next budget cycle (2005) would not allow for any immediate and timely purchases. The last iMacs installed in the Learning Center were purchases made in 2002. It was time to do some upgrading.

With the knowledge that we would have to use our own club funds to accomplish the task, our Treasurer, John Hansen, established a limit as to how much could be spent for this purpose and still maintain a comfortable operating balance to support the club. A shopping list was established, a Purchasing Committee was formed, and the shopping began.

Additional information and consideration allowed for making a few changes to the original shopping list and has resulted in the following benefits now offered to members and others visiting our exceptional Macintosh Computer Learning Center:
