Classes offered at the Macintosh Computer Learning Center

All classes are drop-in and meet from 1 to 3 pm. A $2.00 donation is requested to support the Learning Center.



Mac for Dummies Drop-in Class • Instructor: Shell Weinberg

This class is a must for all beginners. It teaches the basics and fundamentals of the Mac operating system and how to use a Macintosh computer.
Meets on the second Wednesday of every month.

Email / Internet • Instructor: Anne Clark

For email and Internet users on all levels. Topics may include OS X Mail, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Safari, and Firefox. This class allows for a combination of instruction, demonstration, hands-on experiences, questions and answers, and discussion. Sending and receiving attachments will be covered in every session. All attendees are encouraged to bring their questions and contribute information based on their own experience. Every participant will receive a handout for future reference and review.
Meets on the first Thursday of every month unless preempted by a holiday or summer break.

OS X Intermediate • Instructor: Wim Vermolen

This class is for individuals who have some experience with the OS X Operating System and who want to improve their skills. Also helpful for individuals who want a refresher of the OS X features. Fundamentals, basics, and more, are discussed and demonstrated.
Meets generally on the last Tuesday of every month.

Digital Photo Class • Instructor: Anne Clark

This class offers information, demonstration, and hands-on exercises for anything related to digital photos. This might include how to import your digital photos from your camera into your Mac, how to organize them, how to edit them, and how to share them via email, Internet albums, and printing. In each class session, some aspects of different photo related applications will be covered. Examples of these applications are: iPhoto, Photoshop Elements, Picasa, Preview, and more. This class allows for a combination of discussion, questions and answers, and teaching, with hands-on activities. Every participant will receive a handout for future reference and review.
Meets on the third Thursday of every month unless Photoshop Elements is on the agenda.

iMovie Q and A • Instructor: Michael Moore

This session offers demonstration and movie making information as offered in the iMovie program. The fundamentals and basics include info about importing movies from your camcorder, clips, editing, titling, frame transitions, adding music, still photos, etc. Meets generally on the second Friday.

Beginners Computer Information Session • Instructors: Faye Pearl and Metche Franke

This is a special gathering for Beginners, new computer users, and computer-curious folks interested in learning information about the Mac computer and how to operate one. Allows for questions and answers about getting started, understanding the basics and fundamentals of computer use, what to expect when you have one, and hands-on activities.
Meets generally on the Friday before the “Mac For Dummies“ class.
